1. With great devoutness I worship the Buddha who is like unto the milky ocean, embraced by the rays of the moon with waves made always restless by is attendant shoals of fish. 2. My constant worship be to the virtuous Norm which is like unto sun, dispelling the darkness of the world, awakening the entire fraternity of monks embodying the spirit of Nibbana. 3. I salute the great order of monks which is like a precious divine wish – conferring tree bearing the noble fruits of immortality and its mighty circular trunk held unceasingly by the various gods. 4. May the four – faced one (Brahma), Sakra, the God with the conch had (Vishnu, Siva, the celestial teacher (Jupiter), the Sage Bharata, the eye of the day (sun) – May these gods and those many ones with beautiful bodies confer fortune and welfare on the whole world. 5. In this fashion having worshipped the Triple Gem which is like a mark of eminence to the three worlds and again having prayed to the gods to protect all beings of the world. 6.-7, The festive offering of the effulgent bowl during the reign of King Devpit of ancient Jambudeepa and the mind – delighting story of Kasun Devi will be in abbreviated form versified by me motivated by kindness for the welfare of countless varieties of beings. Listen to me oh ! Virtuous ones with heedful ear. 8. Our Gotama, the chief of the world, illustrious of beings, rich in splendour, the one with ten noble

Powers, heving completed in goodly fashion ten magnificent perfections in their thirty – fold fullness, was enjoying the pleasures of the eminent famous valorous devahood in Tusita heaven, whieh is full of the varied tenfold glory. 9. When all the host of noble Brahmas and Gods inhabiting the ten thousand worlds worshipping the lotus-feet of the Great Being begged him in sweet and melodious words to attain Enlightenment, he not discarding the practices of the previous Buddhas, having made the Five Great Observations, (was born) in the excellent city of Kapilavattu in the noble Jambudeepa, famous in many exallted ways. 10. After attaining adulthood savouring expuisite pleasures of the senses, surpassing those of the Gods, making the great renunciation on the day Prince Rahula, of abundant merit. Was born, suffering acute hardship for six years with love and compassion, attained omniscience, annihilating the five types of Mara, cruel and barbarous. 11. By giving ambrosial Nibbana, like an adoring mother unto her children, he consoled all beings of the three worlds who wailed, suffering the pains of Samsara, sharp, cruel and hideous like those of the four purgatories. See, how he made the three worlds into one auspicious hall of victory, distributing the doctrine, giving endless incomparable happiness and fortune and destroying the evll creeds of heretics. 12. Whe, he passed away having completed in forty five years all the duties of an enlightened one, by (a life of) manifold attainments, and the four delightful sublime states such as infinite compassion, in Jambudeepa where the dispensation of the Great sage exists, stable, for five thousand years, as resolved that it should (last) in this world by the well farer.

13. There was a city called Devpit of manifold glories, created by Brahma according to his desire, heving garnered the wealth of people living in the tem directions and incomparably precious goods to suit his wishes. 14. In this prosperous city which was like the city to Sakra, the king in augmented majesty and valour was like Vishnu, always ruling by the ten principles of good government and constant in tenderness like the moon. 15. There was a comely king Devipit, not deficient in the ten skilful actions of love and kindliness, mature in honesty of mind and devoutness in the Triple Gem, protecting the subjects with wisdom and virtuous qualities. 16. That king devoted to the Triple Gem with a happy heart, by righteous command assembled th wealthy people of the four classes of that excellent city the princes, Vice king, ministers Brahmins, Noblemen, all of whom were well informed. 17. And having invited artisans, farmous in all ten directions for their skill, like that of the divine architect, in goldsmith work and carpentry, caused to be made an incomparably captivating chariot, Studded with the seven kinds of costly gems, like the glorious chariot of Sakra. 18.-19. Spaklingly white like the waves of the milky ocean bathed in the rays of the moon were the horses, dazzling in their renowned five – fold auspicious marks of beauty, yoked to that immaculate chariot, ornamented with clusters of jewels; and on that chariot was planted a bamboo pole, wrought with gem and pearl work like the crown of the divine monarch; surrounded by many net works of gems and pearls, eighteen cubits in height, on which was caused to rest bowl – relic

Of the exalted Leader of the World, like the crown of the eight – eyed one placed inside the chariot. 20. The four great streets of that city which excelled the city of the gods in immeasurable riches and luxury were attractively white – washed, white sand heaped on black, and the five varities of flowers strewn in their sufficiency. 21. Having hoisted golden flags on the gilded poles at every doorway, many massive festoons of gold and gerns and plantain trees and decorated with a multitude of delightful adornments, resembling the celestial city erected tri-pinnacled decorative structures up to the gate way of the city. 22. There were chandeliers of gems and wood sup- porting a galaxy of lamps; the city was gloriously adorned with jewelled ornaments ; rose – water; sandal paste, and musk were attractively sprinkled from jeweled vessels. 23. Complete with the five auspicious marks of beauty like the women of the celestial city, with hands filled with lotuses, like lotus – carrying goddess of prosperity, body adorned with jewel, pearl and golden ornaments (the maidens of this city) suffused the mind with love and devotiohn towards the darmsels of the heavens. 24. The flower-adorned maidens of the city offering with great pleasure alluringly scented paste, powder, water varieties of flowers, fumes, camphor, caskets, varieties of golden flowers filled with scent. 25. many charmingly beautiful princesses of the eminent warrior, Brahmin and farmer classes wearing diverse golden garments and ornaments surpassing in splendour, the loving wife of the Three – eyed – One, bearing attractively in their hands numerous articles of worship to the Well-farer, Leader of the theree worlds,

With unabated devotion desiring Nibbana, worshipping, filled their hearts with pleasure. 26. Blooming flowers (or flowers, gems and pearls) white parasols, flags, umbrellas, festoons decorated with many varieties of shining embellishment, bearing rows of silver and golden pots their mouths filled with flowers, Yak-tails and beautiful talipot fans, peacocks with lustrous feathers, and resplendent sky-canopy of cloth ornamented with net work of golden and pearl, flowers. 27.-28. With all the worshipping mentioned here, like the ocean flooding the land, enchanting like the divine musicians of charming appearance, untold, countless were the processions of worship which effaced the four streets by the foot prints of infinite people and according to the command of the king, the leader of men, in splendour like the king of the gods, with his host of ministers, swarms of townsmen including virtuous men residing in villages and provinces, to the accompaniment of songs, dances, and ear-enticing five-fold music, circumambulating the city in a joyful mood. 29. Then having placed with love the noble bowl relic, which always confers immortal happiness, on a seat, lustrous with the beauty of the nine varieties of gems and gold embellishments, in a delightful pavilion decorated with plesant jewel and golden work, builtine the centre of the city as if deriding the council of Sudarma. 30, The great bowl-relic worship was performed, saluting and offering with a happy mind, scented water, fragrant smoke, garlands of lotus and jasmine, to the accompany ment of conches, cymbals panegyrical verses, blowings, acts of jugglery and domedy, like dances, somersaults and acrobatics. 31.-32. Then that illustrious and meritorious king whoi promoted the welfare of the dispensation of the Leader of the World, who destroyed the many

heretical beliefs of the Jains, protecting the world and the righteous, virtuous qualities like his life and who had dived into the great ocean of devoutness invitd a noble monk to discourse throughout the night the precious Norm which gives immortality and which was preached and rightly seen by the Chief of the Three Worlds. The handsome king with his retinue enjoying blissfully, listened to the Norm of the Omniscient One, and wished for the attainment of Nibbana. I shall describe in this manner the mode in which the Norm was preached. Listen joyfully. 33. The abstinence from all evil, meditation, garnering of merit which gives immortality, purifying the mind by purging it of all doubt-this is the admirable admonition of the sages. 34. Therefore, how should evil be destroyed ? How should the merits be garnered righteously? How does the mind become vigorously pure? Know in this manner without breaking the sequence. 35. When willa the host of beings living in suffering and worry in the hundred and thirty dreadful purgatories perform thelofty meritorious actions which are like the path to heaven, devoid of all impediment? 36. How will the Pretha beings (departed spirits) whose bodies are loathsome, whose hearts always burn with the fire of hunger, like a hollow tree scorched within perform meritorious actions that bestow profoud bliss ? 37. What merit – accruing deeds are done by animals like cattle and dogs, and the various beings who exist, suffering in manifold ways, when they know not what is good and bad ? 38. Can th multitude of Beings, enjoying a life-span devoid of utility, in a Brahma world where either the form of the mind is absent, perform mind-delighting meritorious

Actions, when both body and mind sre not in congruence with their desires ? 39. When born outside the universe at no time is even the name (heard) of the Triple Gem, which grants pros- perrity; the faculty of identifying the virtuous deeds is lacking; therefore they all no meritorious acts perform. 40. Where is the opportunity for those born blind dumb, deaf and cripple to acquire the smallest portion of meri? Possessing no sense organs, their lot is to suffer bitter grief. 41. All beings who embrace heinous herectical beliefs in the fashion that there is no merit of demerit, either in this world or in the next, no King of Sages, Doctrine or parents, they commit perennial evil and nothing meritorious. 42. At certain times even with the passge of hundereds of aeons, no world-adored Noble One possessed of the ten powers is born, At that time all beings born in this world, speak and perform nothing but evil. 43. Virtuous folk ! those beings who have fallen into these eight evils, cannot by any means do deeds of merit. Therefore with a joyful mind having escaped states like those, live guided by the noble doctrine of the Chief of the World. 44. Having obtained this noble human birth, the Triple Gem of the Sage, Doctrine and Order which cannot be won in ten millins of acons having learnt from those who are versed in the noble Norm, to discriminate between evil and virtue; it will be a serious loss if merit in not done through lack of fear of the four purgatories. 45. Even if you have not seen beings suffer in the frightful purgatories, yet you may have chanced to observe someone escorted by flies, a body repulsively filthy, as a result of demerit accumulated in past lives, wandering,

Begging, stinking rags hanging from his waist and without receiving a morsel of food to assuage his hunger. 46. And even if the suffering of the purgatories is not seen, isn’t it an adequate stimulus. For good deeds, to have witnessed various beings crippled, deaf, completely blind in both eyes, with sweat and pus oozing on to the ailments such as the eighteen varieties of eczma which are frightfully loathsome. 47. Haven’t you seen, the manner in which someone, who of comely body, shining like a golden image, decay attacked, bent like a bow, teeth fallen, hair turned grey and skin become scaly, angry at them who these, saying “Look at the apperrance of the great grand father,” couching in the hollow in the fire place where ashes are heaped. 48. Beautiful women, comparable to celestial maidens, whose hearts are unable to be won by offers of hundreds and thousands (of gold coins) by youngmen captivated by their beauty, but if turned old,with all teeth fallen, skin wrinkled, back bent, are spat at and turned away it disgust from when seen at close quarters. 49. Various people, surpassing in beauty the God Ananga (cupid) psossessed of limitless wisdom, leading the world in virtues and proficient to the very confines of the sixty four arts and crafts, in common with other beings prematurely, in manifold ways causing their friends to wail in acute sorrow, at sometime or other are trans-formed at death. 50. If possessed with a form, born in the three famous worlds, there is none unoppressed by this terror of dreadful and cruel decay, death and disease.. Reflectind on that, with intention to escape from Samsara which is in diverse ways cruel, do no evil, “knowing indubitably” disease, decay and death are prescribed for me.

51. The Buddhas, Silent Buddhas, Great Arahants, Sages and universal monarchs are held in the toil of death, In the theree worlds an immortal person there is not, Eracicating, destroying the pleasures of the five senses, evanescent as the mirage, thinking ‘Death will come to us too like this’ ward off al evil always. 52. Because there is no law by which anyone may know when death will be, drive off all evil thinking, ‘cetainly death will come even now’ with pure devoutness, and pleasure do all meritorious actions and hasten to the city of Nibbana, which is without suffering and is the repository of the highest bliss. 53. When a person of great riches, dies not having done any meritorious action, leaving his possessions in entirety, then numerous neighbour – folk carry then away dividing among themselves, abusing him saying “Isn’t it strange he amassed all this?” steering clear of foolish deeds like this, do meritorious actions to win deliverance. 54. A mother, at sometime seeing her son playing slone, reproaches all at home saying “ Oh why did you leave my son in solitude?” When this son, who is lulled to the tune of lullabies dies, he is thrown to the thickets. No one approaching he is torn and eaten by dogs, and crows, 55. When a person who walks attended by hundreds and thousands and thousands, fall ill through decay and dies suffering immensely, even his loving wife does not come near him. Some one who goes there drags the corpse to the charnel field’ Then his followers are hundreds of dogs, jackls and flies. 56. A preson, body adorned with scented paste, flowers and ornaments, when oppressed by many sores and cancerous growths, suffers from their stench. As this body rots after death, it stinks offensively. Of what use is perfume anointed formerly? Only the fragrance of merit (will remain).

57. There is in this hideous Samsara only limitless dreadful suffering like this. At the point of death of what help are friends, relatives, male and female slaves ? Comprehending all the ever visible suffering that beings undergo, perform the ten – fold meritorious deeds to enter the gorgeous city of deliverance. 58. “I am of the highest caste, blessed with eminent position, versed in all arts, versatile as an orator, capable of establishing as truth to all the, lies strung by me, and if resolved on something I shall not rest until it is achieved.” 59. Therefore thinking “I am above all. As in wisdom, power, wealth and in every other thing, there is nothing that I lack,” he is intoxicated,. And meeting the Enlightened One, the Norm, the Order, parents, teachers, Patriarchs, relatives do not worship but jestingly annoy those who do. 60. That haughty being, who does not provide seats for them, gives not way to them on the road, or reveres them, not-after death, suffering in the purgatories for a long period, is born in the human world, suffering immensely, as a dog in the Chandala caste, Virtuous one, who heard this fact, quickly eradicate conceit! 61. Foolish folk, thinking that people of equal birth, relatives, friends and other folk are not equals, with great pride in oneself, separatin the acts of sitting, eating and drinking according to the practices associated with ignorant Brahamins, are born as monkey and dogs. Knowing their suffering, discard, all thoughts of pride. 62. During the time of the Buddha a Brahamin named Todeyya spending his days in pride was born by that demerit a dog and dying after enduring this manifold suffering was born in the Avici Hell, suffering poignantly up-to-date without relief: therefore root out conceit from the mind.

63. Fomerly the Nobleman Ananda possesser of seven crores of wealth, did not exert himself in meritorious deeds because of his miserliness. Born in the dreadful, terrible Ravurawa Hell he suffers to this day. Released from it much suffering he will undergo, born as animal and Pretha (departed spirits). Therefore eradicate from the recesse of the mind craving which is the root of all sin. 64. Foremrly a Bhikkuni looking at a clay image lustfully was afflicted with suffering, falling dead on the spot. Furthermore all Beings heated by the fire of lust suffer especially in the four purgatories. Therefore without delay destroy all lustful thought. 65. In the past the two Bhikkus who lived in mutual hatred at Piyangama Vihdre, after death were born at Kunalwila as snakes, attacking each other weekly in great anger. Up to this day they suffer dreadfully. Therefore smite and destroy the thoughts of anger that are at the root of all Evil. 66. Again, ignorance of the beginning and end, merit and demerit , it termed Illusion. Invariably this Illusion is the root of all Evil. Beings who are led to numerous actions of demerit by this force of Illusion, suffered in the four Hells in diverse ways, Therefore always eradicate Illusion. 67. The ignorant vile being, sleeping day and night till his face is swollen, reproaches others in various abusive ways in conceit, accumulating wealth avariciously, drinking intoxicating liquors with coarse enjoyment. 68. He who covetous of pleasure, in increasing laziness, not engaging in agriculture or trade righteously, leading an indoor life, sheltered against heat, cold and wind, fears not any sin or evil acts that lead to suffwering in both worlds. To him, great infernal suffering arises when he dies poverty-stricken and inglorious. 69. In ancient timesa woman, by the evil force of having decapitated a she-goat, suffered immensely for many

Crores of aeons in Avici; as a result received beheadings to the amount of hair on that she-goat. Having heard this sermon, within your life-span, in kindness do not kill. 70. In ancient times, jestingly a woman stole a cloth used for wearing in consequence, even when born as a handsome God, received no garments, Because kings punish with the thirty-two bodily tortures if you love life, with compassion, do no stealing. 71. The Elder Ananda, in one birth, havng done the dreadful and heinous sin of adultery, suffered eighty-four thousand aeons in countless hell. This (punishment) being insufficient, he suffered finally, born as a woman, an eunuch, and a hermaphrodite. Therefore abstain form the sinister sin of adultery which breeds measureless woe. 72. King Cetiya, who stood luminous in the sky, on his uttring a lie, the earth burst upon asunder and in human form he was dragged to hell. Deliver yourself from this sinister, dreadful, lying, which brings affiliction like this. Perform skillful actions to obtain the happiness of Deliverance. 73. The ten fraternal King, killed each other after a drinking bout and suffered violently in Hell. If intoxicating liquors which obstruct the Path to Heaven are consumed, whose happiness will remain ? There will be measureless woe in both wor in both worlds. 74. Formerly a king, having partaken of spirituous liquor, killed and caused to be cooked, and ate, his son, till his hunger was appeased Retribution came in the shape of sorrow. . Touch not liquor which breeds sorrow, vileness, and insanity, for your reward is happiness in both worlds. 75. All beings whio commit these five sins undergo great suffering, for many eighty four thousand aeons in the eihgt dreadful terrible hells, At its conclusion, being

111 born as a preta for many years endured great woe. To them difficult is the acquisition of a human birth. 76. The One with Tem powers decreed that the five sins recorded here should be avoided, adhere to the precepts he laid down-the five moralities will grow in power Virtuous One, who observed these. Five pleasant precepts advance without stumbling to Nibbana, enjoying great divine pleasures in all heavens. 77. Destroying life of other beings, stealing, adultery harsh words, in many ways dreadful, empty words, slanderous talk, great craving which envies another’s happiness desire for another’s destruction, strong heretical beliefs that there is no merit or demerit, that there are no two worlds. 78. The noble Sage declared that complete abstention form these ten evils is abstention from sin in its fullness. With thoughts of love, comprehending things renowned for the swift acculation of merit, perform meritorious deeds righteously to obtain salvation. 79. Delicious food of many types bought, from the seven types of wealth, the eight verieries of delightful sweet drinks, comfortable, beautiful, costly, stately houses, an abundance of precious exotic goods. 80. Magnificent elephants, horse, chariots, Idolees, Dolees, Kunams (varieties of palanquins) fragrant Jasmines, and other flower garlands and unstrung flowers, excellent saffron turmeric and bezoar that increase the beauty of the complexion, pere musk, sandal, camphor. Frankin- cense, scented water. 81. Exquisite rugs, oil and lamps, complete, these tenfold goods, given in pure devoutness to the morally elevated is the real offering, said the Teacher, That was the unobstructed path to salvation.

The Omniscient One preached, miorality is the obser- vance, with love and assiduity, of the five-fold, eight-fold, eight-fold and tenfold modes of good behaviour; systematic contemplation on the mind on the loathsomeness of the body and the impermanence (of things) is meditation; Gradually understand that the giving and receiving of merit are two skilful actions. 83. Service is attention with love to the eminent Triple Germ, teachers and parents. The leader of the world termed the great merit of honouring the virtuous Sage Norm and Bhikkus as Reverence. 84. Preaching and listening to the Doctrine are two noble meritorious actions. The teacher emphasized that the right vision of limitless merit was the straightening of one’s life by embracing the right view. Indescribable are the riches that accrue to those who do these meritorious actions. 85. Abstaining always from the ten unskillful actions such as the five evils, in this fashion, cleansing the ming by acquiring the ten-fold moralities, completely destroying the defilments such as the five hindrances, enter without impediments, the stainless city of Deliverance. 86. When the delightful Norm was being preached all inhabitants of the world, countless gods, Nagas and Garudas, assuming unexcelled human forms. 87. Enthusiastically assembled in that bright place listening with infinite joy to that matchless Norm. 88. In that city there lived an eminent princess, surpassing the wife of Vishnu in beauty and perfection of limbs. 89. That damse, flawless in beauty like the spotless moon, was there to listen to the Doctrine of the One of Ten Powers.



113 90. When (she) was listening, with immense joy and attention to every word and letter, motivated with a desire for the bliss of Heaven and Nibbana. 91. A Naga king whio had come for that worship, infatuated intensely by that damsel, pleaded with her in this fashion to yield to him. 92. To enjoy to the heart’s content the pleasures of the city of serpents, which in undilited magnificence resembled those of the city of Tusita. 93. Having destroyed and smitten the strife of lust shall we, who love each other dearly, embark on a life of joy, savouring the pleasures of the senses. 94. When the Naga king in manifold ways pleaded in this manner fervently, her reluctance increased. 95. Because the maiden was displeased, the poison bearer (sepernt king) flying into a rage, swiftly released poisonous smoke with intention to kill that elegant princess. 96. By those dreadful poisonous fumes her body was not harmed, she warded off evil like this by the power of the faith in the Doctrine of the One with Five Eyes. 97. Then that furious Naga king kissing and embracing that bright princess eagerly, folding her in his coils, placed the hood on top. 98. When the Naga king enclosed her in his coils, harassed her like this, she wrecked his plans by fearlessly listening to the Doctrine. 98. When the preaching was over, many folk were terrified at the spectacle. When earnestly questioned, she explained what had occured. 100. Then she made a resolution- “may this hard- hearted Naga king who has embraced me in his coils leave my body and depart.

101. “In this life, seeing the grief of Samsara, I guarded the higher life without indulging in sexual inter course and adhering to truthfulness. May the Naga leave off the coil tightened in its many spirals and depart. 102. “Either in secret or in open, without any compromise, because of friendly words, I have indeed diligently observed the practice of chastity. If this be true, may the Naga voluntarily uncoil itself from me. 103. “Even from the the time that the aroma of milk was in my mouth till this day, without a breach, without delay, I observed stainless chastity If that truth is a potent one, may the poison bearer move away to a distance. 104. “From the very days of a suckling up to this moment, joyfully I observed the higher life uninterrupted Virtuous beings did not obstuct me. (or) If this statement is true, O Naga without hatred, go with me. 105. “From my birth till this day I guarded the higher life as if it were my life. If such practice be true, may the serpent, without obstruction uncoil itself upto my foot and depart merrily. 106. I listened to the noble Norm with devotional love that left out no word or letter. If this be true that I have listened according to the practices of belief, may this Naga king leave off these tightened coils and depart. 107. “Without anger, I directed firm love and tenderness towards this cruel and terrifying serpent inspite of the many attempts it made to kill me. If this statement be undiluted truth, King of serpents, without pride and destroying anger, release these tightly twisted coils and depart.

108. “By the power of the truthful words, with no great fear of the hood on the coil which enclose me of deadly venomous terrifying nose wind of the serpent. May the Naga joyfully uncoil itself and depart. 109. “If it be excellently true, the statement that I remain firm without yielding by the three doors to the Naga king who sick with lust, develops lustful feelings, may the Naga without delay go far having loosened all coils. 110. “The resolute sacred practice of the noble life I observed conscientiously. With live and devotion I listened to the immutable sacred words of the Buddha, If these statements be unimpeachably true, may the serpernt go happily, releasing its white coils.” 111. When in this manner the solemn resolution was compelted, the stainless friendly Naga king, with love and compassion, leaving off flawlessly its coil wich had embraced her, worshipped with much love and devotion, devoid of deceit. (or) unchangeable. 112. Covering his body with a hundred thousand hoods with measureless by joy the Naga accompanied by his powerful general placed the maiden who had done the solemn resolution on his colourful top, and performed countless worshipping. 113. That divine Naga king brimming with love, with a good mind doing manifold worships, destroying completely vile lustful thoughts as unto his loving beautiful daughter, making many great golden offerings, to compensate all crimes, completed the offerings to become famous universally. 114. Then all people in that city, struck with wonder at this spectacle, having happily offered countless varieties of gifts such as ornaments, valuable upper-


116 garments, singing many laudatory songs, did much friendly loving reverence, swiftly to that princess. 115. That immacuate princess who received gifts worth eithteen crores, dewelling continuously in the stainless higher life, devotedly observing the five precepts, and fasting on the quarter-days,was born at her death in the womb of the noble chief consort of the king of that city. 116. When nine months had elapsed after conception, filling the whole world with rejoicing (she), was duly born, showering serven excellent, dazzling costly varieties of jewels. Because she had an effulgent body surpassing in refined brightness, the gold of the Jambu river, she, an embodiment of noiblel qualities, was immediately named the matchless Kasun Devi. 117. Like the sun and moon, shining in the sky of the Buddha’s dispensation living for a long time, this Arahat Kancand Devi, giving especially the bliss of heaven and Nibbana to countess people, destroyed all suffering and entered th eminence of Nibbana. 122. That illustrious princess listened to the doctrine without fear of the king of serpents that harrased her enveloping her in his coils. You virtuous one’s who heards with joy of her attaining Nibbana, by constantly listening to the Doctrine camfortably work your way to salvation. 123. That princess, by the merit and virtue of having Listened to the Doctrine with devotion, not only achieved post-death immortalitly, but on that day from everyone who had assembled, received. great riches with effortless ease, listen to the noble Norm always which confers happiness in both worlds. 124. The maiden without much intelligence thought of female birth, performed valorous deeds like this un-thought of by daring men, escaped from the dreadful Samsara and attained exquisite Nibbana. Its redundant to expatiate. If you have the refinement of shame, do meritorious deeds. 125. May this poem, delighting the hearts of men, known as Kavmutuhara (the pearl necklace of poems) generating love, last as long as this dispensation generating love, last as long as this dispensation exists. 127.
